In-House Design for Charitable Impact | Event Branding, Creative Direction
Objective & Role:
To create the branding and design system for TechPong, an event that Charitable Impact hosts that is attended by 1000+ people. The branding needed to depict the theme of the event, “Alice in Wonderland,” and that it was a charity ping pong tournament with an attendance of over a thousand people. It also needed to reference the Charitable Impact brand while keeping the visual elements fresh. The look needed to feel sophisticated, but fun. It also needed to be flexible enough to apply to a wide variety of materials (both digital and print).

It also needed to reference the Charitable Impact brand while keeping the visual elements fresh. The look needed to feel sophisticated, but fun. It also needed to be flexible enough to apply to a wide variety of materials (both digital and print).
Final Results:
- To capture the madcap, slightly chaotic quality of the source material, the central wordmark is custom typography made up of several individual and altered typefaces. There are visual references to the material shown in small typographic elements such as the keyhole and the heart.
- The colour palette comprises several shades from the Charitable Impact palette that have direct references to characters from Alice in Wonderland (for example, blue & yellow for Alice).
- The photography adds asymmetry to the composition and provides further context to the nature of the event. The black & white palette complements the existing colour palette without taking focus away from key event details.
